"Over the River and through the woods..."

Well, we're here in TN visiting the family for Turkey day...came in a little early to be with my Mother in Law who's been a bit under the weather. I always like coming home for the holidays, in theory anyway. Many times it just turns in to one big cluster you know what, but there are those occasions where the stars line up and we all have a beautiful time...hoping this is one of those years.
Soooo....here's the topic, and it's a simp;le one. (Once again, in theory) What are YOU most thankful for? Think about it and get back to me.
BTW- no points for this song...Too easy...(Gimme a break- I don' t know any other thanksgiving songs!)

But seriously, I'm thankful for my little one and for everyone who makes my life interesting. And that means all of you. Even those of you I don't know.

And I'm thankful for internet porn.
Totally.

And Mormons.

And Dakota Fanning.
(thought I'd forgotten, didn't you?)

One day, 8 1/2 years ago, I was on my way home from work and had to stop for gas. As I was pulling back out of the station, I had to make a left to go toward home. I looked left and looked right, waiting for an opening in traffic. I saw a theatre just up the road on the right that I had passed many times before, but had never stopped to check out.

Home was left. Theatre was right. I went right. Almost every person I have in my life today is there because I made that right turn. My friends, my girlfriend, everyone. I sometimes stop at that station and sit right there and remember that voice that told me to make that right turn.

I'm thankful for that.

The song actually is a "Fall" song but people use it at Christmas. Okay, elementary music teacher coming out. Anyway....

I am thankful for my beautiful 2-year old son, who never ceases to amaze me - and drive me crazy. He is my heart.

I am thankful for my caring and loving and patient boyfriend and mate, who I look forward to growing old with (though we might kill eachother first). Yeah, you it, Mikey. :)

I am thankful for my family - the whole crazy annoying lot of them.

I am thankful for where I am: my new house, my new job, my new life. It may not be perfect, but it's sure a hell of a lot better than before.

And I am thankful for second (and third and fourth and fifth, etc.) chances to get it right. I think I'm there.

And, yes, Life.

I am thankful for living.

I always have associated the song with THANKSGIVING....probably cause they sing it in the car on the way to CHarlie Brown's Grandmaother's house in CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING...if it's good enuf for Charles Schultz...

AS for things I am thankful for, they are abundant:

- I am thankful beyond measure that no one I was close to lost their life during KATRINA.

- I am thankful for my good friends here in Lexington and around the nation. A strong community is one of the most important things a person can have, and I certainly have it.

- I am thankful to live and work in a city like Lexington where I have many opportunities to practice my craft. (and yes, I am thankful for AGL and all those associated, whom I also count as my good friends- including you JAL666!)

- Though it drives me nuts on occasion (well, okay, frequently) I am thankful for my job and the (mostly) wonderful students I get to work with and mentor daily.

- I am VERY thankful that in 1999, Bruce Springsteen decided to re-form the E Street band!

- I am thankful for my family and their continued health and sucess.

- I am thankful that, warts and all, I live in America, still the greatest country in the world

- And above all else, I am truly thankful for my wife Joy and my son Logan. They say that God loves everyone, but he must really LIKE me, cause he gave me the two most wonderful people in the workd to spend my life with.

...and I'm thankful for all you clones making this blog such a great outlit for thought, ideas and general mischief! Have a great holiday season...

I am thankful for love. Love that keeps coming at you when you know your not deserving. Love that sticks by you, surrounds you, and sometimes suffocates you. Love that doesnt need proof but is proven time and time again. Love is a hard working, ass kicking lady who earns her keep.

This year im feeling especially thankful for everything...even the crap...because i know this year has been hellish for so many people and who am i to have it so good.

Im thankful for every ounce of patience and goodwill i can muster. Im thankful for my familys sense of humour.

Im thankful for being given the opportunity to see the world thru a childs eyes again.

Thanks for my mom ..and that it wasnt anything too serious. Im thankful to be able to know my mom as an adult and appreciate her as a person.

Im thankful for our little family Tim.....
