"Hallelujah, Noel...be it heaven or hell..."

Seasons Greetings, all. Hope everyone is getting stoked for a great Christmas season (or whatever pagan-type ritual you might choose to celebrate). We are headed off to sweet home Tennessee here in a few days, so this'll be my last post for a week or so. I'll try to get one in for the New Year if possible (and if Santa brings me a new computer!)
So, let's have our annual holiday wishes/ holiday shout outs to family, friends, strangers, government officials...whatever! Tell us what YOUR Xmas wish is this year...
If you have some seasonal tidings, post 'em! Don't be shy! And to any and all USM Divas lurking, speak up! I miss you guys...and...let me know what your up to, AND...what you'd think of the possibility of organizing a USM Theatre reunion in the next 12 months or so.
So let's hear from one and all on this holiday season... and a hearty 2000 points for the reference...which I also used last year!

God bless and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all...

...and ps...where the hell is Chuck Pogue lately?????

ELP - "I Believe in Father Christmas"

Happy Christmas to my wife, who thinks I'm a humbugger. You're the best gift I got all year, followed closely by my son and baby-to-be.

Merry "X"mas to the cast of "Holiday Memories". Beautifully produced and wonderfully executed.

To everyone else: Don't let the crowds and chaos drown your joy. Charlie Brown was right. Let some thoughtless ass cut in front of you and don't gripe. They may not ever appreciate it, but you'll live a few days longer for it.

Well spoken, mikey...Merry x-mas to you and yours!

Hello, is this the Sheriff's Office?"
"Yes. What can I do for you?"
"I'm calling to report 'bout my neighbor Virgil Smith.... He's hidin' marijuana inside his firewood! Don't quite know how he gets it inside them logs, but he's hidin' it there."

"Thank you very much for the call, sir." The next day, the Sheriff's Deputies descend on Virgil's house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept. Using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no marijuana. They sneer at Virgil and leave.

Shortly, the phone rings at Virgil's house. "Hey, Virgil! This here's Floyd.... did the Sheriff come?"
"Yeah!"
"Did they split your firewood?"
"Yep!"
"Merry Christmas, buddy!"

And to all of you. May the police come and chop your firewood for you, free of charge.

Now let's put this f*$@er we call 2006 to bed, how 'bout?

And a happy New Year!

For "X"mas, all I want is whirled peas.

Hope everybody gets a bit of the spotlight next year, and a smile when you least expect it.

Safe travels to Tenn, X!

As for a USM reunion, I'm all there!! Where do I sign?

Take care,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

All I want for Christmas is to have a healthy baby on the way and for our family to continue to grow in health and happiness.

(Thank you, Mikey, for being so wonderfully sweet.)

First thing, set a date. My thoughts are something around July 4th. All the alums that are teachers will be off then, and us measly state workers will be off as well.

Then we need to get the word out. Jason's Diva Distribution is a good first start. And we can ask the college for an alum list... I guess.

That's how I'd get my balls rolling... um, you know what I mean.

I hope this works!!! I miss you and Joy. And now there's a little Davis!! Sweet!!

If nothing else, it's good to hear about your expoits here on your blog.

Take care,
Keri

Good ideas, Keri.
I, too, think Jason's DIVA letter is a good way to spread the news. July the 4th is an excellent time as well.
Let's keep in touch...and where are my other MS divas?

I would love a USM reunion as well. Summer is not as good for me...cause I hope to be working somewhere...but you never know.

I have had a few mini ones here in the city, but it would be nice to see everyone else too.

As far as holiday wishes are concerned...I want peace on Earth, of course.

And to reconnect with friends. Real friends.

And I want tickets to SPRING AWAKENING.

FOr those of you here in Lex, I got some troubling news today:

Son of the late Francis Harry Sigman and Julia Rhea Case Sigman. He was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, A.S.Q.C., Actors Guild, Studio Players, YMCA, and was an usher at the Opera House. During Korea he served in the U.S. Army. Surviving family includes his daughter Sherry T. DeSantis and son-in-law Joseph, grandsons Nicolas and Stuart DeSantis. Service 11:30am Sat. W.R.Milward-Southland. Visitation 5-8pm Fri. Bob was a fine man. I first met him when he was in my Reader's Theare class for the UK Donovan Scholars program. He has been a loyal AGL patron and usher for many years, and I counted him as a friend. He was scheduled to take my Theatre classes at Bluegrass in the Spring semester. I will miss his presence in those classes, and I will miss him.
God speed Bob...

XMAS MOVIE UPDATE

Here's what Harry Knowles of AINT IT COOL NEWS has to say about ROCKY BLABOA (as opposed to the "other" big film opening against it this weekend)

"Harry here again. I've seen and been reading your reaction to this film from watching it yesterday. And having seen the other films that have opened against this one, I have to say - I really do hope that ROCKY BALBOA keeps bewildering the experts.(He's refering to the 6 million dollar opening on Wed.) NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM is a soulless repetitive concoction of CG nonsense, whereas ROCKY BALBOA is a film about nobelity, respect, family, love and striving to never quit. It's a genuine audience film that isn't just a single magic screening at the Alamo Drafthouse, but a bonding experience with every audience out there. I love the character of ROCKY BALBOA, and it's nice to have a genuine icon on the screen again. A real movie star knocking it out of the silver screen. This is the geek film of the holidays. Our pugilistic Star Wars that has never lost his soul or grounding. Let's hope Hollywood learns all the right lessons this Holiday season!

RIGHT ON, Harry...yeah, I know it's silly to see an aging Stallone drag out this character one final time...but come Xmas day, my ass is gonna be planted in the a theatre chair chanting "ROCKY ...ROCKY..." and enjoying every damned minute of it!
...that is all...rant over...

...and, of course the title of the film is ROCKY BALBOA, not BLABOA...what would one of my rants be without a glaring typo?

Hi everyone. I guess I am one of those lurkers. Things are going well for me. I am still working at the Dallas Theater Center as the Director of Ticketing. We are counting down until we get into a new high tech theater in the downtown arts district. That's slated to open fall of 2009. The hubby and I have done lots of work on our house so we're hosting my folks for Christmas. My biggest news as of late is that I had gastric bypass surgery 5 months ago and have dropped 90 pounds so far. So I am looking forward to a brand new year in skinny jeans! Happy Holidays everyone! And Tim I am all for a diva USM reunion! I don't think I have seen much of anyone since graduation except you, Joy and Canady when I lived in Nashville.
