So we cracked 100 posts! Not bad! Of course, I think we had about 4 people doing the most of the posting, but HEY, it's not how you get there but THAT you get there, right?
Anyhoo...since we've all been so danged fired up lately, lets take 'er down a notch, what do you say?
Since it's the kickoff of the holiday season, lets have our annual "what I'm thankful for" postings. Chime in and be counted. Don't be shy...when I did this last year we only had 17 posts. We can do better than that, people. Despite all the turmoil in today's world there is still a LOT to give thanks for. Feel free to be as mushy as you want! After our last few round of commetns, we could use a little positivity right about now, no?
AND- to get back to the points game...7,500 points for the (slightly obvious) reference...Fletch, if you get here fast enough, this one should be yours in a walk!

"I would still be loving you"
Led Zepplin baby!!!
Such a nice post after the previous shit storm....
I am thankful for a multitude of things...
*That my father is still alive even tho they've stopped the chemo...because it just isn't working anymore...and that his quality of life is still good.
* My wonderful husband for still being glad to be married to me.
*That I am in another show and all does not seem to be lost of my theatre career since I've moved to Florida
*That I have the means to travel now and then....well shoot...that I have "means" at all.
*That I am reasonably healthy, that my family is OK...
*That life is wonderfully tragic, and full of "twists and turns an fake out endings"
* For my friends from Kentucky, NY to FL....
Happy Thanksgiving to all! See you all around Christmas....I'll be there...spreading Holiday Cheer in my own little personal snowglobe.
Nice post, L...
...but I can't give you the points, as you got the "title" wrong! Try again!
"Thank you"...
and sorry for the shit storm, but it kind of was last week with all the news...
I am thankful that is over...
and for my family
and all those I care about...
We have a winner!!!!
THANK YOU it is...my fave Led Zep tune, actually...
I'm thankful for a new post, and more thankful to post anew.
I'm thankful for myself, and more thankful for you.
I'm thankful I've seen rock-bottom, and more thankful I've seen rocky top.
I'm thankful of friends I've got'em, and more thankful every time I exercise my heart...
I'm also thankful for Qdoba.
-JB
I knew that title, too! Dang.
I am thankful for...
- my wonderful, patient, loving, sexy husband, Mike (even though he just farted and I smell it...thanks baby)
-our beautiful son who bring me laughter and wonder into my heart
-being alive, healthy, and getting stronger every day
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Ah, you see, I like Qdoba too!
As well as... Erin, Addison, music, being married, friends, possibility, beaches, the color black, noise-cancelling headphones, Republican neo-con insolence, hippie preachers, red meat, sharp cheddar cheese, dreamers, the thunder of a Harley, dry erase markers, grape Kool-Aid, Gibson guitars, the soft click of a Peacemaker revolver, cruise control, big body pillows, big hot water heaters, Tabasco sauce, CD/DVD burners, Willie Nelson is still alive, independent radio stations, Old Spice cologne, three-day weekends, avacadoes, long extension cords, ganja, organic milk, book stores, shortcuts, yellow lights that hold, TiVo, biker boots, cotton shirts, convertibles, rainy days, porn, ball caps, the backspace button, the way my wife snores, remote controls, minor chords... and all the tiny choices I made that I never knew would get me here but did.
Not to one-up you guys, but that is also a line from "If 6 Was 9," by Jimi Hendrix, and it predates the Zepplin tune. So, do I get points, too?
I'm very grateful for anti-depressants, sweaters, San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, chipotle peppers, poodles (or just about any dog), and the way my husband looks when he's playing a guitar solo.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
Missy, so true...
"If the sun refused to shine
I dont mind, I dont mind
If the mountains ah, fell in the sea
Let it be, it aint me."...
good call...
Crap...I just continued the lyric....oh well I'm thankful for Led Zepplin, too.
Nice one Missy...forgot all about Jimi.
69,000 points for you!
I'm thankful that 2006 will soon be over.
Oh, and for all of you.
Dig it, baby.

The last post was me...Shayne.
So here's what I'm feeling thankful for of late:
- My Family: My wife and my son are the biggest part of my life and I am amazed daily that I get to go through life with two of the most wonderful people on the planet. My wife and I have been married 13 years now, and I feel like we've never been closer. And the joy of getting to see life through a child's eyes, especially one as sweet and fun-loving as Logan, is truly a blessing.
-My extended family: Brothers, sisters, in laws, parents, uncles and aunts, everyone. You're beautiful...and I ain't mad at cha!
- My job: It's SO nice to be in this great new position, with such a great support system...and did I mention that I no longer have to commute 60 miles a day???
- The Lexington Theatre community: Ya gotta admit...it ain't dull!
- The "Xmen"- You know who you are...and to Ms. Cummins...as per our confab last night...I have never missed anyone so much in my LIFE!!!!
-My friends: Some of my best friends are scattered throughout the country, and many of them frequent this board.(D$, Scotty Mc, Laurie,Fletch, and others...) I don't get to see you guys nearly enough, but God bless you everyone. It's been a long strange trip, but you guys and gals have made it worth living...
- That the NO Saints may FINALLY have a winning season! (despite losing three of the last four...)
- That Bruce Springsteen, Kiss, Meatloaf, Styx, Sammy Hagar, Speedwagon, Maiden, Priest, Journey and many of the other great artists of my musical youth are STILL kicking it! Take that, haters!!!!
- That the people of the Gulf Coast are slowly, but surely, beginning to rise up again...
- That I graduated from fine schools like The University of Southern Mississippi and Middle Tennessee State. I'm proud to call myself an alumni of both...
-And lastly, I'm thankful that I have this little corner of cyberspace to rant and type badly in...
HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!!!
It's the day after Thanksgiving, but I think I can still say what I'm thankful for :-)
I'm thankful for...
-- my sweet hubby, who understands me better than anyone and still wants to be with me.
-- my family (mom, in-laws, nieces and nephews), including all the furry darlings who've brought so much joy into my life over the years.
-- my friends, or as I like to think of them, the family I've chosen (many of them frequent this board, but others never touch a theatre except as a patron). You all know who are, and I treasure each of you as a gift.
-- a job that gives me the chance to help people (and a tightly-knit workplace where I'm fortunate to count my co-workers as friends).
-- the means to live comfortably and still have the time to pursue artistic interests.
-- living in a part of the world where I don't have to worry about someone bombing my house.
-- finding a spiritual home at the Unitarian Universalist Church this year (all you freaky liberal theatre types would feel right at home!).
-- dark chocolate!
-- my pop culture indulgences: Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, The Wire, Torchwood...
-- flowers and gardens and the time to tend to them - and the way they ground me (pardon the pun) and remind me that life's so much bigger than the problems I may be facing at a particular moment.
Mushy enough for you, X? :-)
And as an aside to Prof. Xavier, Jean Grey *does* return, my friend! (Maybe without too much Dark Phoenix this time...)
Good to see you guys tonight, X! Addison talked about Logan most of the way home :) See you again soon!
had some extra time and actually read thru the last (105 posts) heading...and it really wasn't a shit storm at all, it was rather amusing..I think it could be a treatment for a sitcom...even Seinfeld was brought up and how funny that is now with everything M.R. as done...
anyway.....
aaaaaaand scene.
Hey X! What about a new post? I have a topic suggestion..perhaps we've done it, I can't remember:
Funny mishaps in shows.
I am currently in THE DEAD GUY by Eric Coble. For the past 2 dresses, the gun I shoot has been jammed...there's more to this story that is more amusing...but hence the inspiration for the suggestion.
See even D$'s post shows its meant to be...
That sucks, D.
You know, CRUMBS was the first show I directed in Lex back in 02. I like tht piece alot. Lynn Nottage , who strangely enough happened to be in town, stopped by an early rehearsal and talked to the cast and production team for an evening. Very cool..
Yep.
